Quick Poll

I was planning on scheduling an HSG this month, but due to the BFP/loss, I'm not sure now. I'd really like everyone's opinion. I know I want to wait a couple more months before we move on to anything like Clomid. It seems that I'm actually ovulating, so I think that would be redundant. But should I get the HSG, anyway? What's the chance that my tubes are blocked and one little egg managed to make it through last month?

Any advice is welcomed! There's a poll on the right hand side ------->

Thank you!

The month after my m/c, I had my HSG. It was more to rule out uterine abnormalities than to check my tubes.

It is a pretty simple diagnostic tests and not terribly invasive. I had cramping and spotting for a few days afterward but nothing worse than AF.

I would definitely discuss it with your doc but I would think it is a good way to go before determining your best course of treatment.

Good luck!

i agree with kristen completely. Do it if you want to, or wait til you are ready to pursue treatment IF you need treatment later on down the road. Take time for you right now. ANd if you think the hsg will help settle your mind, then its all worth it. If not.. there is nothing wrong with waiting

I don't think any harm comes from an HSG - only good (or nothing, which is also good). I barely had any problems with mine - a wee bit o' cramping during the procedure, but it was totally minor and over as soon as they were done.

Kristen is right -- it's used to rule out any abnormalities in the uterus as well as the tubes. It's something I would definitely talk to your doc about having done.
