Where has the time gone?

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted. Oops! (again)

The biting issue has been seriously curbed. If I exhaust the boys before nap time, Trip doesn't mess with Jack. Sometimes this isn't really possible (rainy days are rough) and on those days I put them in separate rooms. Some days we just don't have a nap. Jack will also now tell Trip "No Biting!" I guess he's finally over the bruises. I know I am!

I can't believe how big my boys are getting...all three of them! Aedan (oh yeah, we settled on a name) is growing daily and I'm HUGE! Trip and Jack seem to get bigger every day. I swear it's like someone is feeding them miracle grow! I can assure you it's not me, they're barely willing to eat anything I cook. Finicky little things.

So I guess I should share some pics.

Uh-oh! You caught me! I LOVE dirt!
Pretty flower! (It's from an oak tree)

My sweet boys!

30 weeks 3 days
I'm HUGE!
I really am huge. I've gained too much weight (luckily the doctors haven't gotten onto me about it). I'm actually measuring a few weeks ahead due to my weight. Aedan seems to be trying to force his way out of my right side. It can be so painful at times! He's actually caused me to almost hit the ground in pain when he's kicked/headbutt/clawed at my cervix. I wouldn't give any of this up for the world, though. Feeling my boys move inside and holding them on the outside are the only things I enjoy about pregnancy, so I'll love it while it lasts!

Well, I had so much else to stay, but I just can't remember it. I guess that's what happens when I don't blog for too long.

I have another post I'm brewing in my head. I promise this one will come soon!

Cooking Lesson & The Plot Thickens

The Plot Thickens:

J, from this most recent post, is now married.  Her and A had a little ceremony at A's house last night.  I was given less than 24 hours notice that she wanted me to walk down the hallway (her aisle) before her.  She also asked me to dress up.  Hahahaha!!!  I explained that I would wear the least casual of the two pair of pants and two shirts that still fit.  It turned out very sweet even as disorganized as it was.  I still say that, in her shoes, I'd probably make the same decision, but I hope she knows what she's doing.

Cooking Lesson - Mashed Potatoes (pay close attention beginning with step 4)

  1. Peel Potatoes

  2. Put potatoes in pot with a little crushed garlic and cover with water

  3. Bring to a boil for 20 minutes or until fork tender

  4. Instead of draining the boiling water into the sink, pour it on your belly and feet

  5. Immediately freak out about unborn children

  6. Once pain sets in (per husband this takes about 5 seconds from the sound of the water hitting the floor) scream multiple profanities and repeat "Oh, God!" at least a dozen times as the tears begin to stream down your face

  7. Place cold compress on belly and rush to call on-call doctor

  8. Find out boiling water doesn't hurt unborn babies, but does hurt you

  9. Realize toes are also in excruciating pain and place ice pack on them

  10. Instruct husband on adding milk, butter, salt and pepper to drained potatoes

  11. Sit on couch with compress and cold pack as husband uses hand mixer to mash potatoes

  12. Enjoy!  (the potatoes, not the severe pain as your children realize that the blistered side of your belly is once again safe for them)

Now for the picture proof that I did this insanely clumsy and stupid thing.

And a 35 weeks 2 days picture (sorry for the lack of a shirt...blisters and material just aren't fun right now).

Appt Update & Picture

Today I had my "34 week" appointment.  This included my (hopefully) last growth scan.

The boys both look wonderful.  I wasn't pleased with the u/s tech, though.  I'd gotten spoiled by having the same tech for the past couple of appointments and had forgotten just how different each tech does things.  My last tech measures a little more liberally.  I guess that's why both boys were in the 66th percentile.  But this tech, she was wayyy conservative with Baby A and pretty much in the middle with Baby B.  She stated that Baby A is in the 38th percentile now (how does his growth change that much in 4 weeks?  And I did voice my concern, but she said it was normal.  WTF?) and weighs about 4lbs 12oz.  She stated that Baby B is in the 50th percentile and weighs about 5lbs 2oz (That sounds normal to me since they are running out of room).  This is the first appointment that the boys weren't within an ounce or two of each other.  But, like I said, I watched while she was measuring and she was seriously conservative with Baby A's measurements.

It was amazing to watch the boys practive breath!!!  To see their little chests moving up and down and their little diaphrams...it was sooo cute!  Of course they're stubborn little guys and, although they've moved, they haven't moved the way I'd like.  They're now both breech.

I met a doctor today that I've never seen before.  Of course he walks into the room, "Hey!  It's been a while since we've seen each other!"  Really?  We've never met, but whatever, I'll undress from the waist down and let's get this over with.  He did my strep-B test then a cervix check (I swear it took forever).  My cervix has gone from 5cm to about 1.5cm.  He was in and out of the room before I even had a chance to ask one question.  And since it looks like I'm headed for a C-section, I had questions.  Oh, well.  They made sure and put me on my favorite persons list (love my midwife) for next week!  I also start NSTs next week.

I'm fairly disappointed with the results of todays appointment.  I'm happy with how the boys are doing.  I love feeling them wiggling around all the time.  I'm happy that my cervix is just now starting to shorten (and not dilate, yet).  But I'm not quite as ready to hear that I'm more than likely headed for a C-section as I thought I was.  It's about what's best for the boys, though.  I know there is the chance that Baby A will still flip, but it's not too likely according to the doctor.

Without further ado...here's some pics (even an ugly one to show just how pretty stretch marks can be).

The Hurricane Follies (w/belly shot update)

Seriously.  If the military can screw something simple up, they will.  Mr. W's boss' wife called me yesterday (did you follow that?).  In her voice mail she started out by telling me, "I just want you to know that Mr. W is fine!  I know that you've probably got some messages from the guys at work, but he's fine."  What's my first hormonal reaction?  What-do-you-mean-he's-fine-why-wouldn't-he-be-fine-WHAT'S-WRONG-WHAT'S-GOING-ON-WHAT'S-WRONG-WITH-MY-HUSBAND?!?!?!!?  He's out of the country right now, so there might have been some basis for my 10 second freak out.  Then she continues with the message to talk about my "hurricane" plans and the options that she has for me.

After I get off of work I return her phone call, still curious about what she was talking about in regards to Mr. W.  She tells me that he won't be home as expected (which wasn't until next week from what I thought) and that was all.  The reason the guys he works with were calling was because a lot of them will have to work during the "hurricane" and they want to make sure that all of the wives have plans.  Of course I have plans...I've lived here for more than 5 minutes, I have a permanent hurricane plan.  Stay unless it's a category 3 or above.  If it's a nasty one, I'll take my ass (and the respective asses of my 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 lord-how-am-i-gonna-travel-with-the-damn-beta-fish) northwest to my parents house in the mountains.  That pretty much ends our conversation.

I arrive home and check the house phone...no messages and no missed calls.  Strange.  I thought she said they tried to call.  Oh, well!

This morning I receive a frantic email from Mr. W, "Just wanted to write you and see if you are ok.  Someone called from work and i didnt want to pick it up.  If you do have a problem [Dumb] or [Dumber] has other ways of contacting me. I love and miss you."  (Yes, this is frantic for my husband.  Mr. I-do-not-email-unless-the-world-is-coming-down-around-us.)

Needless to say, I was pissed.  Some moron he works with tried calling Mr. W's cell phone to get in touch with me.  Hello?!?!  Don't you jackasses remember you sent him out of the country?!  And of course what's the first thought Mr. W would have if someone from work were trying to get in touch with him while he's gone on this trip and his wife is sitting at home 23 weeks pregnant with twins?  Yeah, poor guy.  I immediately emailed him and let him know that we were all fine and that they were just making sure I had a hurricane plan.  Then I called one of his bosses and let them know that they had called the wrong damn person and freaked him out...now please write down the right damn number and call the right person in the future.  (yes, it was pretty much worded like that, give or take)

Mr. W sent this response, "I'm soooo glad that you are ok.  It made me worry when i got that call.  I hope im home on time or soon after.  I love and miss you bunches and bunches."

I love that man.  :-)  His co-workers...not so much.  :-|

And here's an updated belly shot.  I really need to get a haircut and quit taking my picture in the green room with the fluorescent lighting.  Ugh.

She's six months pregnant...

That comment wasn't made about me, it was about some other woman.  Mr. W's co-worker asked him to come help repair his neighbor's a/c.  I asked Mr. W why he was helping his co-worker's neighbor (ie a perfect stranger of no connection to him*) with the a/c and his response was, "Because her husband's deployed and she's 6 months pregnant."  I'd definitely hope that someone would help me if I were in her shoes, which is always a possibility.

So Mr. W comes home last night telling me all about his adventure in a/c.  There was nothing he could do to help the woman, but between him and his buddy they figured out what was wrong and found a professional to cut her a seriously good deal to recharge the unit.  Then he goes on to tell me that he and the woman chatted a good deal.  It turns out she and her husband did IVF and she's now pregnant with twins.  She's not six months pregnant, though...she's a few weeks behind me.  And she's "not as big as you are, honey."  Apparantly his buddy had just been guessing at how far along she was due to her size.

Now I'm wondering...how far along do random people think I am.  It tripped me out the other day when a patient asked my boss if I would be delivering soon.  Needless to say everyone was laughing about that one.  Of course I know I'm only going to get bigger and completely expect people to make such remarks as, "You're HUGE!"  Bring it on!  ;-)

Sorry for the blurriness of the pics.  That's what happens when you don't use the flash, it would seem.

* Mr. W is such a nice guy that he rarely says no to helping anyone.  This has begun to be an issue since he helped a random woman in our neighborhood (we'd all been introduced once a few years ago).  This woman has since proceded to give out Mr. W's cell number to other people in the neighborhood.  Now he gets all sorts of people calling him for help repairing one thing or another.  I'm all for him helping people, but it's getting a bit ridiculous!

Pics

I finally updated this post with my 8 week u/s pic.

And now I present my little 9 week 6 day belly:
