Say Yes to the Dress!

Tim's semi-formal graduation dinner is coming up very soon.  As in 11 days away, soon.  What?  I didn't mention he's been away at school all month?  Yeah. Gotta love the military when they give you 3 days notice that your husband is leaving for six weeks.

But the important question today is, which dress should I wear??? I ordered a bunch of dresses and decided to let my internet buddies pick one out for me.  Please ignore the hair, lack of makeup, and fact that all of the dresses are wrinkled.  Please also forgive the blurry shots and bad lighting...self portraits suck.

Please vote, even if you've never commented!  The poll is on the right and will be open for a week. :-)

Exhale

Today I would be 19 weeks pregnant, if I hadn't miscarried.  But I'm honestly OK, now.

I just realized that pregnancy announcements don't feel like a knife through my heart.  I was able to read of a bloggy-buddy getting to see her little one's heartbeat, and I felt pure joy for her!  There was no jealousy or envy or any other negative emotion, just happiness for her and her husband.  I'm also no longer envious of the people that are due around when I was due.

I am completely happy with what I have and want nothing more*! :-)
*I reserve the right to change my mind on this matter. Of course I am only human.

Today I'm thankful

Today, I'm thankful.  My husband is gone, but he's only a state away.  My husband was away for a small part of my pregnancy, but he was there for the birth.  My husband is active duty military, but he is safe.

This poor woman isn't as lucky as I am.  Her husband was in Afghanistan.  Her husband wasn't there for the birth of his daughter, nor did he ever get to meet her.  Her husband is dead, he died serving his country.

My heart breaks for her.  I will definitely hold my husband tighter when I get to see him tonight.

Showin' and Tellin'

Show and Tell

It's time to step in front of the class for Show and Tell.  What are you sharing today?

I finally did it.  I got my tattoo for my lost babies.  I thought of it right after my most recent miscarriage and finally settled on the design and artist.  And here it is.  Right now the tattoo is still sore (just had it done two days ago) and the physical pain is bringing up some emotional pain, but I'm OK with that.  I love having a physical reminder of the little lives that were with me for such a short time.

In case you can't tell, I got it on my foot.  I kept having people tell me how much it would hurt to have a tattoo done there, but I feel it's significant.  It was a painful road (is/was) that brought me this far.

Here's the inspiration for that tattoo (if you click on the pic it takes you to the photographer's blog):

Where's the love?

I've read posts about this, but felt it was time to do my own.

Where is the love?  Really people?  All around the blogosphere people are getting nasty.  I just don't understand it.

So many people are leaving nasty comments, but they all have some things in common:

  • They are closed to replies.  Anonymous people, people with profiles but no blog or email attached, people with private profiles...all being nasty like they're getting paid to do it.

  • They also seem to think that just because you blog (and don't PWP your freaking site) they should be there to spew their hate.  It's their right to do it, or so they think.

  • They only kick you when you're down.  They're definitely trying to cause drama.

Really people?  What makes you think that just because someone is putting their thoughts out there that you have the right to say whatever hurtful and nasty thing you can come up with?  These aren't news sites we're talking about they're personal blogs (I say personal as in belonging to a person as opposed to belonging to a business)!  I don't know about everyone else, but my blog is a place for me to get stuff out of my head.  It's public because a) I crave the support I get from the blogosphere b) something I say or a comment I receive may help someone else some day.

Something that's really ironic about one of these heinous commenters is their thoughts on their procreation.  They state their procreation is private.  Really?  What about that blog they used to write about it on?  What about the issues they had with IF (because they did. minor IF, but IF all the same)?  This blogger actually went private because she was paranoid about who was reading her.  Now she's attacking people?  WTF?

For the record, if you want to come on my blog and try to shit on me, be my guest.  But know your comments won't get published.  Know you won't get a response, either.  You know why?  This is MY blog.  There is no democracy here.  There is no freedom of speech.  If you want to be a raving bitch, go ahead, but I will delete it.

And because it must be said...Can't we all just get along?
